Just as we had been introduced since our early days, all religious festivities must be celebrated. As the melting pots of all races, religions and cultures, Black Hackle Club (BHC – comprising of Veteran RRD Officers) organised its inaugural Hari Raya Adil Fitri Open House at Hotel Grand Barakah on 28 Apr 24.
The event attracted the gathering of 120 paxs (including spouses) of various generations, some close to tears, tight hugs, awed expressions and unbelieving / memorable recollections. How time flies? The hidden stories and some deep kept secrets only surfaced after almost three to four decades. The depth of this bonding that is beyond any demographic differences was indeed penetrating, touching and impactful to all.
The gathering acknowledged the presence of our seniors, Kol Dato’ Syed Othman, Mej Choudhury, Kapt Ahmad Hadi, Ms. Angela Ong (wife of late Brig Jen Philip Lee) and Ms. Karen Ho (wife of late Kapt Ho Fooi). It was extremely nice and touching for this senior generation to attend and bring the added spark to this gathering.
The BHC Organising Committee extends our most sincere thanks and appreciation to all RRD Veterans for the generous time, effort and willingness accorded for this event. Hopefully the success of this event serve as valid testimony for the consideration of similar such activities. Thank you.
