News Developments and Update

As Salam and A Very Good Evening YBhg Dato’-Dato’, Sir and Gentlemen. Hope that all are good health and everyone had a very relaxing extended weekend holidays. Happy Chinese New Year to all celebrating RRD Veteran Officers.

Following conduct and feedback of AGM, permit me to share some news developments and update of ongoing events pursued by BHC:

1. BHC Crest. The preparation of this crest is progressing constructively well. Hopefully with some refinements we would have an agreed version soon. Thank you Lt Kol Azhar Lee for your tireless effort in pursuing this project.

2. RRD Veteran CNY event. After much deliberation, this event would be held at Grand Barkah Hotel on 25 Feb 24. Notice on this had been posted over the past 2 weeks. Hopefully the response would pick up this week. A meeting with the hotel has been scheduled on 15 Feb 24 where a final determination would be done. Ever hopeful of a positive outcome. Kapt Jordan Teo is on the ball with this and thank you.

3. Draft BHC Constitution. The preparation of this is well on track. Thus far the draft had gone through two rounds of deliberations. Following these hugely successful sessions, the subsequent timeline set is as follows:

– 14 Feb to 28 Mac 24, continued reading and refining of draft copy
– 21 Apr 24, draft copy issued to all Committee Members
– 21 Mei 24, all amendments, comments and views of Committee submitted for further review, study
– 01 Jun – 15 Jun 24, final relook at amendments, checks and confirmation
– 01 Jul 24, copy sent to all BHC Members (grace period of 3 months to source comments, amendments and feedback)
– 01 Oct 24, all feedback from BHC members would be reviewed.
– AGM (Dec 24, date to be confirmed), all feedback would be reviewed and prepared to be discussed, subsequently approved in AGM.

4. BHC would not be organising any Buka Puasa event but would focus our resources on organising Majlis Sambutan Adil Fitri to be held preferably in month of Syawal. Lt Kol Hj Kadir is well aware and already working towards this. Thank you.

5. With regards to ROS registration, all requirements has been submitted and we are now awaiting, ever hopeful of a positive outcome.

6. Collection of subscription has been put on hold until ROS registration is secured. Banks are unwilling to consent BHC opening an account without ROS endorsement.

YBhg Dato’, Sir and Gentlemen, thank you for your kind patience and strong support. We would continue to update as we make ground and further progress.

Thank you again and we, BHC, very much look forward to your continued cooperation. Best regards and wasallam.

Dato’ Nazrul Edgar bin Abdullah
President
