FOREWORD

Assalamualaikum Warrahmatullahi Wabarakatuh and Warmest Greetings to all Honourable Black Hackle Members,

First and foremost, permit me to extend my most sincere and wholehearted thanks and appreciation to Kapt Sapuan bin Samion (Bersara) for his astounding effort, ingenuity in creating, designing, and managing this website. Optimistically, this could soon emerge as the foremost, most active, and highly sought-after platform for all forms of engagement, be it articulating innovative ideas, recording experiences, forwarding perspectives, or just simple interactive engagement. Kapt Sapuan has a passion for computer revolutions, and I am optimistic this site will undergo constant upgrades, modifications, and transformations.

The date 09 Dec 23 marks a significant milestone within the Veteran RRD Officers fraternity. After much trepidation, challenges, and determination, Veteran RRD Officers of all generations came together and resolutely decided to chart a new course. It is time for RRD Veteran Officers to be collective, reengage, stay connected, relive memories, and assist one another, just as we had done many times in our younger days. To facilitate and make this intent possible, an elected committee was installed and given a strong, resounding mandate to evolve and take this organization forward.

Dedication, resilience, and passion are tenets that run deep, unchallenged as integral fundamental virtues in the development of any aspiring non-profit organization. What more if this organization is to start from scratch? The Black Hackle Club (BHC) nicely fits the above description. As a 3-month-old start-up, BHC seeks to establish a strong foundation and institute the building blocks towards a resilient and sturdy organization.

Honourable Members, the strength of this new Committee lies in the deep love that we share for the corps and our inherent intent to celebrate our veteran years together. The expertise of the Committee Members is well balanced, with half being retired Ranger Officers while the other half consists of officers who opted out early and attained success in their respective corporate environments. This is a good mix as it brings the needed rigour, vitality, dynamism, and experiences. The willingness of the Committee Members to accept this responsibility, and forgo their precious time and effort, is truly commendable.

Honourable Members, as a fresh organization, there is indeed much to be done and the expectation list is never-ending. Top of the list for this founding elected committee’s term is to establish the BHC’s legitimacy and functionality. We understand that much of BHC’s conduct, operationalization, and subsequent achievements will attest to our credibility. Hopefully, organizational progress and success will serve as strong testimony and convince, spur the naysayers, the undecided, and others to register.

Honourable Members, given RRD’s diversity, a fundamental theme in BHC’s endeavour is understanding the dynamic social environment and, in doing so, the need to accept the necessary pains, sacrifices, and ability to undertake other intangible compassionate avenues. We are starting off with raw strength, courage, and conviction. Hopefully, good news and positive developments will be down the road. Thank you.

Wabillahi Taufik Walhidayah Wassalamualaikum Warrahmatullahi Wabarakatuh and Best Regards,

President,
